A New Brockton man turned himself in to custody late yesterday afternoon after warrants were issued for the robbery and assault of a 69-year-old man on Coffee County Road 521.
According to a Coffee County investigator, Jasen Scott Caradine, 31, allegedly assaulted a man in his home and stole an undisclosed amount of money.
The investigator said the victim suffered multiple injuries to his face and body as a result of the attack.
Investigators say a weapon is believed to have been used in the assault, but a specific weapon has not been identified at this time.
The victim was transported to Southeast Alabama Medical Center for treatment and was later transferred to a Birmingham hospital.
Caradine was charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree assault and bond revocation.
Caradine is expected to appear in court tomorrow.
