WES students learn about wildlife

The Big Bend Wildlife Sanctuary near Enterprise rescues and rehabilitates injured, sick or orphaned native wildlife in an effort to give those animals a second chance at life. The sanctuary is a 501(3)c non-profit that survives solely off of donations and volunteer support. BBWS provides an educational program for the surrounding communities. Recently, Owner John Morse, took some animals to Windham Elementary School to educate students about the animals and what BBWS does. Morse answers questions while holding the albino Blue Jay as dozens of first graders watch and listen. The birds and mammals used in the education program cannot be released back into the wild for various reasons.
