Five incumbent city officials have qualified for election in advance of the July 19 deadline for the New Brockton municipal general election to be held on Tuesday, Aug. 23.
Incumbent Kathy Holley has qualified to run for mayor.
Incumbent Billy Tindol has qualified to run for District 1 councilmember.
Incumbent Jimmy Peacock has qualified to run for District 3 councilmember.
Incumbent Courtney Campbell has qualified to run for District 4 councilmember.
Incumbent Thomas “Sonny” Eads has qualified to run for District 5 councilmember.
Incumbent Eddie Cordle has not qualified to run for District 2 councilmember as of press time.
The mayor’s office and Districts 1, 3, 4 and 5 councilmember positions are facing no opposition as of press time.
The qualifying period for municipal elections is 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19.
The last day to register to vote in the municipal election is Aug. 10. The last day for a voter to apply for a regular absentee ballot is Aug. 18.
All voting for the New Brockton municipal election will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Old National Guard Armory located on East McKinnon Street across from Frogz Restaurant.
