Get the pads ready. Football season is just around the corner.
Daleville’s football team began spring practice April 21, and so far assistant coach Josh Parrish likes what he sees.
“They came out ready to practice with enthusiasm,” Parrish said.
“We have a bunch of kids that look like they want to get better.”
So far, the focus has been on individual positions, but Parrish’s main goal is to get the players ready when fall rolls around.
“(We’re) implementing some new things,” Parrish said.
Off-the-field distractions, such as the resignation of coach Brad McCoy and the self-reported AHSAA violations, seem to be a nonfactor on the field and during practice.
“I don’t think they play any part in it (spring practice),” Parrish said.
“We’ve kept things going the way that they were going.”
