The City of Daleville, Office of the Mayor and the Daleville Recreation Department will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Billy Adkins Park at the Billy Adkins Community Center in Daleville. The event will take place Tuesday, April 1, at 3:30 p.m.
The new addition is part of the Department of Parks and Recreation five-year plan to add more family recreational activities to Daleville’s landmark facility, the Billy Adkins Community Center. The Center is currently experiencing a rejuvenation of activities for the whole family. The Center’s current hours are Monday through Friday, 10 to 6 p.m. and Saturday, noon to 6 p.m. The Center offers Dance through Daleville Dream Dancers, Tae Kwon Do, Zumba by Emmi Jones, a multipurpose fitness room with DVD library, an open gym, a game room, Wii, and youth basketball,T-ball, baseball, softball, football, and cheer teams.
The Department of Parks and Recreation will also host, for the first time this year, a Youth Summer Program for children 5-12 years old along with the 2nd year teen program FIT2Play. Registration for the summer program is underway and registration is limited.
