A Midland City man has been identified as the victim of an accident that occurred in the early morning hours Thursday, Sept. 13, in Ozark.
Kameron Norris, 27, is the person who was found lying in the grass just off Logan Road in Ozark, according to Ozark Police Chief Marlos Walker.
“At the start of the investigation authorities had received reports of a possible hit and run accident,” Walker said. “As the investigation continued law enforcement conducted multiple interviews with witnesses and close friends of the victim.”
Walker said that an autopsy conducted Sept. 14 revealed no signs of foul play. “This preliminary report was consistent with all the information investigators received during the course of the investigation.”
Walker said that the Dale County E911 received a report at 6:27 a.m. Sept. 13 about an unidentified man lying in the grass just off of Logan Road in Ozark.
First responders were unable to resuscitate the victim who was pronounced dead at the scene, Walker said.
The case is under investigation by the Ozark police Department and the Dale County Sheriff’s Office pending final reports from the Department of Forensic Sciences. Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPD at (334) 774-2644.
