On April 27, The International Association of Machinists Local Lodge 2003, supporting Fort Rucker’s flight training, voted to strike. The Machinists Union represents employees of Army Fleet Support (AFS). Maintenance support of Fort Rucker's entire fleet of helicopters is performed pursuant to a contract with AFS.

According to a statement from the Fort Rucker Public Affairs Office, Fort Rucker is not a party to the current labor dispute. The dispute is a matter between AFS and its employees. However, this dispute is impacting Fort Rucker’s ability to train aviators.

Currently there are no changes to access control measures at the gates to the installation and no other impacts to operations on Fort Rucker.

This is why there should be no unions on allowed federal property. Shutting down the military is not an option. No one on post can get UPS packages. Remember that when you order something from Amazon. Choose the USPS option.
We need another Ronald Reagan to say "go back to work or lose your job" as he did with air traffic controllers
