The Fort Rucker Commissary is recalling all in-house processed fresh beef and pork products with a pack date of Tuesday, Jan. 12, because of possible degreaser product contamination.
The recall does not include fresh packaged chicken. Customers can return any in-house prepared fresh pork or beef product purchased with the Jan. 12 pack date for a full refund.
The recall is issued because a degreaser product not approved for meat processing machine use may have been inadvertently used. The manufacturer's label states that, if ingested, rinse out mouth, don't induce vomiting, and "get medical attention if you feel unwell."
"Because we thoroughly rinse our meat processing area after cleaning, the chances of contamination are very slim. However, out of an abundance of precaution, we are asking our customers not to consume the recalled product and return any in-house prepared fresh beef or pork products they may have purchased with the January 12 pack date," said Jess Lira, store director.
