LPPD arrests Louisiana fugitive from justice

Lisa Marie Rogers

The Level Plains Police Department arrested a Louisiana woman on charges of fugitive from justice on Sunday, March 31.

Lisa Marie Rogers, 32, of New Orleans, La., is currently facing charges of cruelty to a juvenile, accessory after the fact/rape and delinquency of a juvenile from Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office in Rayville, La.

Level Plains Police Chief Ivan Keith Gray said that Rogers was residing in Level Plains with a family member when the LPPD received the warrant.

“The Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office called us last Wednesday (March 27) and told us that they were looking to obtain some very serious felony warrants on this woman and where she would be located,” Gray said. “They called us Friday (March 29) and sent us the warrants.”

Gray said that LPPD wasn’t able to locate the fugitive that Friday, but that the fugitive was arrested after being seen returning to the residence.

“We went and staked it (the relative’s residence) out and once they left the residence we pulled them over and arrested her without incident,” Gray said.

Rogers is currently in the Dale County Jail awaiting extradition on bonds totaling $100,000.
