The Daleville Public Library received a $5,000 donation from Rep. Steve Clouse during a meeting of the library’s Board of Trustees on Thursday, Jan. 17.
The funds come from state discretionary funds, according to Clouse. He said he was happy to support the library, which not only supports the community, but also the city’s schools.
“The Daleville Public Library is integral to the schools,” he said. “You can tell how much interaction they have (with the schools). It’s so important for the education process.”
He also thanked the library’s staff for working hard to provide the best services in the community.
Library Director Kathryn Brown said the funds would be used for general expenses and programming costs. She thanked Clouse for his support of the DPL.
“We just appreciate him so much,” she said, stating he has always been a great support for the library. “He loves our library and knows we’re here to help the community in every way we can.”
