The Daleville Police Department has arrested several individuals on drug and other miscellaneous charges recently.
The arrests were made during traffic stops, following disorderly conduct and other calls, and after the department received call-in tips from citizens. The police department seized drugs during these arrests, as well as paraphernalia and weapons.
From Monday, Feb. 26, to Monday, March 5, the DPD has arrested 11 people:
Shaquille Malik Patterson, 22, of Daleville, criminal littering;
Shawn Andre Buggs, 34, of Daleville, public intoxication;
Tika Lynn Gilbert, 36, of Daleville, possession of a controlled substance;
Randy Auburn Edmondson, 37, Newton, violation of interlock DUI system;
Sylvester James McDaniel, 52, Daleville, third -degree assault;
Charles Franklin Sconiers, 34, Enterprise, second-degree possession of marijuana;
Robynn Danielle Mayo, 24, New Brockton, second-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia;
Jarnelle Deshun Perkins, 25, of Enterprise, second-degree possession of marijuana;
Arlando Rodale Green, 42, Newton, second-degree possession of marijuana;
Brandon Donnell Sanders, 35, of Newton, second-degree possession of marijuana; and,
Deszimin Martiz Johnson, 28, of Daleville, trespassing and resisting arrest.
The City of Daleville has a zero-tolerance drug policy. Signs with this policy are placed on main entrance roads to the city.
Police Chief William "Willy" Powell said that tips about drug-related crimes are welcomed.
He asks that anyone who has information of drug crimes or possession contact the Daleville Police Department at (334) 598-4442. Tips can be left anonymously.
Powell has previously said he hopes to see Daleville become a drug-free city. He also said Daleville officers do all they can to keep the city safe.
"All the officers are working hard to combat illegal activities," he said.
