The Dale County Sheriff’s Department is asking those with information about a missing Ozark woman’s death to call them at (334) 774-2335.

Dale County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Mason Bynum said law officers are seeking information about the death of Laramie Cline, 24.

On Sunday, Aug. 20, the Dale County Sheriff’s Office began investigating a missing person report on Cline, who had been a resident of Ozark, Bynum said.

Cline’s mother became concerned and contacted the sheriff’s office after Cline stopped communicating with her on Thursday, Aug. 17, according to Bynum.

During the investigation officers received information that Cline might be in the North Little Rock, Ark. area.

Investigators working in collaboration with the North Little Rock and Jacksonville Police Departments, Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office and the Arkansas State Police were able to locate Cline’s vehicle in Pinnacle Mountain State Park.

A male subject was found to be in possession of the victim’s vehicle and was taken into custody on unrelated warrants, Bynum said.

Bynum said that the DCSO was notified Aug. 21 by the Arkansas State Police that a deceased female had been found near Lake Pickthorne in Lonoke County, Ark. The Arkansas State Police Crime Lab later identified the woman as Cline. A cause of death investigation is still pending and the investigation continues, Bynum said.

The person in possession of Cline’s vehicle is currently being held on unrelated charges and at this time has not been charged in the disappearance of Cline. The Arkansas State Police are currently the lead agency in the death investigation.

“We would like to extend our condolences and offer prayers to the Cline family during this difficult time,” Bynum said.

Those with information that may help investigators are asked to call Lt. Tim Crooks with Dale County Sheriff’s Office at (334) 774-2335. “We would also like to thank the Bay County, Fla., Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in the investigation,” Bynum said.
