Filmore, Michalic, Strickland win in Dale County primary election runoff

Six Dale County candidates went head to head Tuesday in the county’s primary election runoff.

For Circuit Court Judge, 33rd Judicial Circuit, Place 1, Bill Filmore has defeated Stuart K. Smith. Filmore received 3,158 votes to Smith's 1,365.

Sharon Ard Michalic defeated Woodrow E. “Woody” Hilboldt in the Dale County Probate Judge race. Michalic received 2,883 votes to Hilboldt's 1,717.

In Level Plains, Filmore received 129 votes to Smith's 30. In Daleville, box one, Filmore received 188 votes to Smith's 27; and in Daleville, box two, Filmore received 82 votes to Smith's 10. In Newton, Filmore received 118 to Smith's 46.

In Level Plains, Michalic received 88 votes to Hilboldt's 70. In Daleville, box one, Michalic received 132 votes to Hilboldt's 76; and in Daleville, box 2, Michalic received 60 votes to Hilboldt's 31. In Newton, Michalic received 96 to Hilboldt's 71 votes.

Wes Strickland and Mike Heath faced off in the Dale County Commission, District 4 race. Strickland received 1,277 votes to Heath's 757.

The Sun is still waiting on reports from other polling locations.
