Residents warned about unofficial website to make water bill payments

City officials are warning Enterprise residents not to make online city water payments on any website other than the official city site, www.enterpriseal.gov.

“The city is not affiliated with any third-party collection company and customers’ banking information is never used on the city’s online bill-pay program,” Mayor William E. Cooper said.

Those who don’t look closely at web addresses or notice the outdated information on the site could make payments that would never reach the city of Enterprise or be credited to their water service accounts.

Cooper does not recommend that anyone use a third-party site to pay their water bill because customers are usually charged transaction fees and payments may not be made to the proper source in a timely fashion, increasing the possibility of delinquent payments.

The correct website where customers can pay online is www.enterpriseal.gov. In the “Departments” dropdown menu, choose “Water,” then “Pay Bills Online.” The app used on the city website is paysafenetwork.com.
