The Wiregrass-Enterprise Chapter 1807, National Active and Retired Federal Employees, will hold its monthly luncheon program at 11 a.m. Sept. 26, at Po Folks Restaurant, Enterprise. The guest speaker will be Beth Gunter, an accredited financial counselor. All federal employees, active or retired, are invited to attend the luncheon programs at the same time every fourth Thursday of the month at Po Folks. There will be a Ma-Chis Lower Creek Indian Tribe of Alabama tribal meeting on Saturday, Sept. 28, at 2 p.m. at 2950 County Road 377, Elba. Discussion will include the  2019 Pow Wow, 2020 Census, potential opioid lawsuit, update of requirements for existing active citizens and requirements for new citizens. The House of Ruth Inc. offers services in nine counties in Southeast Alabama for issues of domestic violence and sexual assault. For more information call 334-347-1912 or 1-800-650-6522.

The Enterprise Senior Citizens Center is for anyone 60 years of age or older. There is no fee to participate in the senior center program but donations are welcomed. Congregate lunches are served at the center and home-bound meals are delivered to eligible clients. Art classes are offered every Tuesday from 8 until 10 a.m., and 10 a.m. until noon. Sewing classes are offered every Monday and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until noon. Additional services include nutrition education, public education, legal assistance, telephone reassurance, information assistance and various programs through community service organizations. Day trips, organized special events and an evening once or twice a month for members to eat at a favorite restaurant are planned. The cost for trips and special events are the responsibility of the individual person who signs up to participate. Transportation services are provided to members that are unable to drive or do not have transportation within the city limits only. Members are brought to the center and returned home after lunch.
