The Enterprise softball team earned a 10-2 win Thursday night against Charles Henderson that was highlighted by a grand slam from Kaylee Hussey.
Charles Henderson took an early lead, though. The Lady Trojans scored on a two-out double.
Charles Henderson didn't stay ahead long.
Marley Strahan walked to lead off the Lady Cats' half of the first, stole second, stole third and scored on a wild pitch.
The Lady Trojans struck again in the top of the second and took a 2-1 advantage on a clutch single to center.
Once again, Enterprise found an answer.
Abby Purvis and Emily Waters led off the second with back-to-back singles, and Jenna Goldsmith plated Purvis with a bunt single.
The Lady Cats loaded the bases for Shelby Pawlik, who cleared them when she crushed a double to left and drove in three runs to give Enterprise a 5-2 lead.
The senior also started the game in the circle for the Lady Cats, pitched two innings and struck out two.
Danielle Clark relieved Pawlik in the top of the third. She pitched two scoreless innings and struck out four.
The game remained 5-2 until the fourth, when the Lady Cats' offense awakened again in a big way.
Goldsmith was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning and moved to second when Bailey Hurst bunted for a hit. Strahan advanced both runners with an infield hit of her own.
The single loaded the bases for Hussey, who sent a pitch sailing over the fence in center. The base-clearing blast gave Enterprise a 9-2 advantage.
The Lady Cats added their final run later in the game when Strahan scored on a passed ball.
Jostlyn Higgerson came on in relief of Clark in the fifth. She pitched three innings and struck out six.
Enterprise begins play in the Wetumpka tournament Friday.
