The Daleville Warhawks won their first football game of the season 34-12 against Headland on Friday night, Aug. 31.

The game looked rough for Daleville at first when Headland went up 6-0, but the score would change once quarterback Jonathan Pittman threw the ball to Jacquez Coleman for a 14-yard touchdown pass.

The score remained 7-6 in Daleville's favor at halftime.

The Warhawks scored on their first possession of the second half when Pittman got the ball to Roman Buchanan, who scored a 35-yard touchdown and gave Daleville a 13-6 lead.

Headland attempted to battle back in the third quarter when it scored a touchdown, but it wasn’t enough. Daleville still led the game 13-12.

Buchanan wasn’t done for the evening as he caught another touchdown pass, this time for 64-yards

Daleville’s Demarcus Flowers took the lead to 27-12 on a 6-yard run, which ended the scoring for the third quarter.

Flowers was the only player to score in the fourth quarter when he capitalized on a 21-yard rush, and took the final to 34-12.

Daleville will travel to Mongomery Catholic on Friday, Sept. 7. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m.
