New Brockton Elementary School will have a new principal starting July 1.
Jason Hadden, who will serve as principal for a two-year probationary period, said that New Brockton was a great town to work in.
"I'm excited to be here," Hadden said. " The community here is full of pride and history."
Hadden said that he hopes to bring more technology to the school.
"The school is already on a great path," Hadden said. "I just want to progress that and introduce more technology in the curriculum."
Hadden said that teaching and leading elementary-age students is something he enjoys and has experience with.
"It's somewhat different," Hadden said. "They really care about coming to school; they're excited about it. You get a thousand hugs every morning when students get off the bus. I just enjoy elementary students."
Hadden has a master’s degree in educational leadership from Auburn University in Montgomery and a master's in education from Troy University.
He has worked at Pinedale Elementary School as a kindergarten teacher; Zion Chapel School as a first grade teacher, elementary reading coach and the assistant principal; interim assistant principal at Coppinville Elementary School and assistant principal at Rucker Boulevard Elementary School.
Hadden said he is happy to serve as the new principal at New Brockton Elementary.
"I'm so glad to be where I'm at," Hadden said. "I'm very blessed to be here."
