Fifth grade students from Holly Hill Elementary visited Food World in late September to practice math skills in a real world setting.

Students rotated to five different sections of the store adding, comparing and estimating prices of items on a grocery list.

Classroom connections were made by applying skills learned their fifth grade math classrooms.

According to Math teacher Stephanie Barrette, “Math at the Market” is a valuable math activity with real-world applications that Holly Hill students enjoyed.
