A three-vehicle accident on Highway 134 West Nov. 9 sent one man to the hospital via medevac helicopter with serious injuries.

At about 12:45 p.m., emergency responders were on scene of the accident, which occurred in front of Covington Electric.

Shortly there after, Flatiron was contacted to transport one patient, who was said to be in and out of consciousness, to a Dothan hospital.

First responders used the "jaws of life" to remove the patient from the vehicle.

According to witnesses, two vehicles were stopped waiting for oncoming traffic to pass to make a left hand turn before a third vehicle was unable to stop resulting in the three-car accident. No one else was seriously injured.

Police are still investigating the accident.
