The Enterprise Police Department responded to an alarm at Discount Tobacco Outlet on Rucker Boulevard at about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10.

A suspect broke into the business by breaking a window with a rock before stealing about 10 cartons of cigarettes.

After reviewing surveillance video, patrol officers and detectives began canvassing the area for the suspect.

A detective who just left the burglarized business was driving an unmarked car when he was flagged down by a man walking along the side of the road who asked for a ride to his home.

The detective immediately recognized the suspect from the surveillance video and brought him to the police department.

He was identified as Zoterrian Marquez Jones, 19, of Enterprise, and was charged with third-degree burglary. He was later transported to the Coffee County Jail.

The stolen cigarettes were returned to the business owner.
