Two men have been arrested in connection with a home invasion in Daleville on April 1.

At 2:50 p.m., Ozark/Dale County E911 received a call of a burglary-in-progress in the 4000 Block of Hwy134 West in Daleville.

As deputies were responding to the call, a passerby noticed a suspicious vehicle traveling in the area near the victim’s home. The description and direction of travel was immediately broadcasted to the responding deputies and Daleville Police.

A short time later, Daleville Police conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on Daleville Avenue. As the vehicle came to a stop, four black males exited the vehicle and began to flee.

One subject was immediately apprehended. Another suspect fled into the parking lot of McLin’s Restaurant where he entered another vehicle and attempted to gain control from the driver. The driver of the vehicle was able to subdue the suspect until officers arrived.

The two remaining suspects were able to flee on foot.

During the investigation, it was determined that the victim fired a shot from a handgun at one of the suspects as he entered his home.

Tykis Wallace was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree theft of property and second-degree possession of marijuana. Denzel Williams was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery.

Both suspects are being held at the Dale County Jail with no bond.

The Dale County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Daleville Police, Dothan Police Department’s K9 unit and the Enterprise Police Department.

If anyone has information about the robbery or the whereabouts of the two remaining suspects, contact the DCSO at (334) 774- 5111.
