Global company Enterprise Electronics Corporation is about to embark on a major expansion, and with that comes the expansion of employees.

During the next 12-18 months, the company is looking to add 25-30 new jobs to its Enterprise location, increasing its workforce to more than 100 employees.

Under the guidance of new investors out of Australia, led by president Andrew Israel, the company previously owned by The Weather Channel, builds some of the world's most technologically advanced commercial weather radar systems.

The systems are used in meteorology, aviation, military, oil and gas, hydrology and media and broadcast industries.

The company is opening two new support centers in Germany and Australia in addition to its headquarters in Enterprise.

EEC built the first commercial Doppler radar system in 1981, equipped the National Weather Service with the first color radar system display in 1980 and the first radar display for personal computers in 1988.

Chris Goode, vice president of sales and marketing, said the company is always innovating and developing the newest technologies in regard to weather radar systems.

"We live by innovating," Goode said. "That's what fuels our business."

The new investors, Goode said, have a long-term view for the company and its future growth.

Since the company's founding in 1971, EEC has produced more than 1,000 radars, which can be found in locations from the United States to Tanzania, Africa.

Radars built by EEC are in more than 90 countries and on every continent, except Antarctica.

Annually, the company produces about 40 radar systems.

Among its other products, including the C-Band, S-Band and X-Band radar systems, the company has s new radar system known as Ranger that is the newest, most advanced system.

Enterprise Electronics Corporation has recently been awarded contracts in Austria, Sweden and South Korea to produce radars, and has also been contracted to build 18 new weather radars for the German Weather Service.

The combined total of contracts is about $50 million.

To aid in the building of these new radars, the company will be posting employment opportunities to its newly launched website, eecradar.com.

Goode said the company will be looking for a number of differently skilled workers including mechanical, electrical, software and system engineers as well as project managers and customer support specialists.

Positions will range from entry level to senior level managers.
