An Enterprise man, arrested for the shooting death of three people in a Wicksburg nightclub, appeared in court Oct. 9.
Ryan Clark Petersen, 22, has been charged in the shooting death of three people with four counts of capital murder and one count of attempted murder for a fourth victim who was shot.
A fourth count of capital murder was handed down last month by the Houston County grand jury because two or more people were killed in the same incident.
In Circuit Judge Brad Mendheim's courtroom Tuesday, Petersen's attorney, Chris Capps, entered pleas on behalf of Petersen of not guilty and not guilty by mental illness or defect.
The judge has ordered a mental evaluation.
Victims of the Aug. 9 shooting are the nightclub owner's son, Cameron Eubanks, 20; club employee Tiffani Paige Grissett, 31; and patron Thomas Robins Jr., 59.
Scotty Russell, 33, was also shot during the incident, but did not receive life-threatening injuries.
Petersen was taken into custody on Aug. 10, after a more than seven-hour search in the wooded area surrounding the club by Houston County authorities.
