Beginning Monday, July 8, Fort Rucker will close its Faulkner (Shell Field) and Newton gates due to the start of the Department of the Army civilian workforce furloughs.

The gates will be completely closed to inbound and outbound traffic, until further notice.

Delivery trucks and large loads should use the Ozark gate during this time.

If anyone has any questions about deliveries contact the agency’s point of contact.

Visit Rucker.army.mil/ to check for any changes in gate status.

The commissary will also be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays beginning July 8, through the end of September.

The week of the Labor Day holiday, the commissary will be closed on Monday through Wednesday.

The furlough will impact the Department of Army civilian workforce beginning the week of July 8 through the end of September.

Fort Rucker officials ask that anyone utilizing their services to please be patient as they go through the next several months.

Fort Rucker Public Affairs Office will release any new information as it becomes available.
