The Daleville Police Department has arrested and charged a man with torture/willful abuse of a child.
According to Daleville investigator Lt. Kenny Jackson, Andrae Jorran Jordan, 23, of Daleville was arrested July 16 after police received a report that Jordan may have allegedly beaten a 5-year-old child with a belt.
Jackson said Jordan was staying with the victim’s mother at the time, and the child had bruises all over his body.
Jordan was arrested and placed in to the Dale County Jail with no bond.
In other news, the Daleville Police Department is asking the public’s help in finding suspect(s) who may have stolen metal grates from the Inland gas station on Highway 84 and the car wash on Daleville Avenue.
Authorities said the robbery may have occurred between 9 a.m. July 16 and 8 a.m. July 17.
The scrap metal is valued at $1,000.
