Twenty-eight students from Enterprise City Schools were selected for the 2013 Middle School Southeast Eastern United States (SEUS) Honor Bands Dec. 5-7 at Troy University.
To make SUES, a student is nominated by his or her band director.
When the honor band clinic begins, middle school students from across the state perform live auditions and are divided into three groups — the Cardinal, Silver and Gold bands.
Each group is comprised of about 100 middle school students from across the state of Alabama.
After students were in their respective bands, they spent the weekend rehearsing and listening to exhibition concerts from guest bands.
A final performance was given by each of the three groups Sunday, Dec. 7, which was attended by family members, area band directors and students from Troy University’s John M. Long School of Music.
This year Enterprise Junior High School students Logan Goulart, Jenna Goulart and Tyler Smith made the Gold Band; Jenna Tubbs made the Silver Band and John Chong made the Cardinal Band.
From Dauphin Junior High School — Kailey Taylor, Malia Silva, Sheldon Ford
And Seth Feiner made the Gold Band; Sandra Patronas, Kristian Hall, Caleigh Cardwell, Spencer Wood and Evan Pruett made the Silver Band and Courtney Baril, Aurora Rigdon, Seantae Foster and Grant Monaghan made the Cardinal Band.
Several sixth-grade students from Coppinville Junior High School also made all three bands.
Lee Yeon Yi was the only student from CJHS to make the Gold Band.
Mazer Casto, Joan Warner, Quentin Fields, Nathalie Nazario and Rosie Robinson made the Silver Band and Katherine Gonzales, CJ Schmittendorf, Korynn Hill and Travis Odom made the Cardinal Band.
