Fort Rucker winter weather announcements

The post will close at 11:30 a.m., Jan. 28, until noon Wed., Jan. 29. Fort Rucker employees are released at 11:30 a.m. today until noon Tues. At that time conditions will be reassessed. 

All flight operations, to include academics, are cancelled for Tuesday, Jan. 28, and Wednesday, Jan. 29.

Newton and Faulkner gates will close two hours after post closes today (approximately 1:30 p.m.) and will remain closed until the installation reopens.

The commissary will close at 1:30 p.m. today to allow last minute purchases.

The Army and Air Force Exchange main store will close at 11:30 a.m., however the main Shoppette will remain open.

All MWR activities will close beginning at 11:30 a.m., today, with these exceptions: The Landing Zone, Bowling Alley and Divots restaurant will close at 1 p.m., today. MWR activities will be closed until noon Jan. 29.

Schools:

Fort Rucker Primary and Elementary Schools will close at 11:30 a.m., Jan. 28, and all day Wednesday, Jan. 29.

Campuses on Fort Rucker:

• Troy University is closed Tuesday.
• Enterprise State Community College is closing at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.
• Embry-Riddle will close by noon Tuesday. All night classes for Tuesday and Wednesday are closed.
• Baker College will close at noon Tuesday.
• The Education Center will close in accordance with post closures.

Area schools:

• Coffee County Schools will close at 1 p.m. Tuesday and will be closed all day Wednesday.
• Enterprise City Schools will close at 1 p.m. on Tuesday and be closed all day Wednesday.
• Daleville City Schools will close at 1 p.m. Tuesday and will be closed all day Wednesday.
• Dale County Schools will close at 1 p.m. Tuesday and will be closed all day Wednesday.
• Ozark City Schools will close at 1 p.m. Tuesday and buses will run at that time; and remain closed for Wednesday.  All extracurricular activities are cancelled for Tuesday and Wednesday.
• Dothan City Schools will close at 1 p.m. Tuesday and will be closed all day Wednesday.
• Houston County Schools will close at 1 p.m. Tuesday and will be closed all day Wednesday.

Area Road Closures: Houston County and Dale County roads will close at 6 p.m. today.

Fort Rucker Child Development Centers:

Fort Rucker Child Development Center will close at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. The center has already begun notifying parents to pick up children beginning at 11:30 a.m. today. The center will remain open until the last child is picked up.

Healthcare:

Lyster Army Health Clinic will close in accordance with closure of post. Anyone who has an appointment after noon today will be rescheduled. The pharmacy, lab and radiology will also close at noon.
