A Texas-based company was awarded a $387,000,000 contract to provide maintenance services at Fort Rucker on Friday, Sept. 15.
Army Fleet Support/L3 Communications previously held the maintenance contract.
"L3 presented a strong, value-driven proposal as a prime contractor for the recompetition for Contractor Logistics Support at Fort Rucker," according to a statement from the company. "As the incumbent, we are aware of what is needed to deliver on this program and are awaiting a debrief to better understand the Army's decision and evaluate whether to protest this decision."
The bid from M1 Support Services, of Denton, Texas, was one of four received for the contract, according to a press release from the United States Department of Defense website.
The company will provide maintenance services for entry level and advanced Army and Air Force Advanced Rotary Aviation Training.
"Work will be performed in Fort Rucker, Alabama, with an estimated completion date of Sept. 30, 2027," the release stated. "Fiscal 2018 operations and maintenance funds in the amount of $387,037,012 were obligated at the time of the award."
According to the company's website, M1Services is an "AS9110 certified, service-disabled veteran owned, women-owned business with core competencies in aviation support."
M1Services serves the Unites States Army, Air Force, Navy and Coast Guard, NASA, the Drug Enforcement Agency, the Defense Logistics Agency, the Department of the Interior and the Federal Aviation Administration.
