Fifteen minutes were added to the countdown clock, but 11 seconds were all that was needed for the Denver Broncos to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in the shortest overtime in NFL history.

If, at the beginning of the football season, someone were to tell you the Broncos were now two games away from the Super Bowl, you probably would have laughed in their face. But here they are, ready to give it their all for a shot at greatness.

Many people wonder how Tim Tebow has led the Broncos this far. He doesn't have the greatest stats, but he gets the job done and at the end of the day, that's what counts.

Whether you love him or hate him, Tebow deserves props for leading the Broncos on their upset victory against one of the toughest teams in the NFL. Despite that, many football fans just can't (or won't) give the guy a break and sadly, it has nothing to do with his football abilities and more to do with his religious beliefs.

Yes, the guy believes in God and isn't afraid to admit it. Personally, I think that's wonderful. But for others, I guess it's somehow easier to love sports' convicted felons than it is to love an athlete with deep religious convictions.

Can someone please clue me in to what has happened to this country?

Never have I heard any athlete criticized as much as Tebow for doing good instead of bad. He's an inspiration to his teammates, he's an inspiration to fans and he's the miracle the Broncos have been waiting for since John Elway retired. Does that mean God has something to do with it?

Maybe ... maybe not.

I look at it this way, God is with us no matter where we go or what we do. Does that mean He is helping Tebow win football games?

I don't know, you'd have to ask Him yourself.

While I don't believe God cares about a game of football, I know for a fact it only takes a little faith for God to react. With faith the size of a mustard seed, people achieve greatness. Tebow seems to have faith the size of Mile-High Stadium, so just imagine what he can achieve.

While I don't believe God cares about football games, I do know that God places each of us who profess to know Him in a place of influence somewhere and it's up to us to choose to be an effective wittness for Him in that position. I believe that He put Tim in such a broad position of influence because he knew Tim would stand up to the task! God Bless Tim Tebow, he is an encouragement to all of us and if you need to be clued in to what has happened to our country, read Isaiah 5:20.
