The Enterprise Public Library and Wiregrass Decorative Painters will teach a series of six Beginner Decorative Painting Classes beginning Tuesday, Feb. 7, from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
Classes will be held at the Enterprise Library on Grubbs Street.
Ten spaces are available. A video projection system is used so all students may see the teacher demonstrate clearly. Several chapter members provide individual assistance.
Classes will be taught by painting specific projects designed to teach particular techniques used in decorative painting. You do not have to be able to draw to learn to paint beautifully. Each class will build skills by reinforcing previous lessons and adding new techniques. Different surfaces including wood, metal, canvas, and fabric will be utilized to instruct in proper preparation of the variety of surfaces utilized by decorative painters.
Pre-registration is required and is now open at the library until Feb. 1. The library's registration fee of $5 is required in cash. Course registration is $40 payable by check to Wiregrass Decorative Painters also payable at the library. The starter kit includes five top line brushes, seven paints, three mediums, as well as several other essential tools and items and is on display at the library. Kits will be issued at the first lesson. Surfaces and other items necessary for each project are included in each lesson. Balance of $40 is due at first class. Class fees are non-refundable.
Subsequent class dates are Feb. 14, 21, 28 and March 6, 13.
