An honorary firefighter was officially pinned Oct. 25 when members of the city of Enterprise Fire Department came to Holly Hill Elementary School to give the first graders a presentation on fire safety in the home. During the program, Capt. Bryan Turner, kneeling, presented six-year-old Bryce Caldwell, a student in Cathy Davis’ class, with an official firefighter badge and named him an honorary fireman. The son of Suzy and Jeremy Caldwell has been diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, an inoperable brain tumor. During the badge pinning, Turner told Caldwell that he had “courage and bravery, the same qualities as a firefighter.”

From left, standing, are Lt. Cornelius Boulton, Firefighters Raymond Sessions and Clark Thompson, and Suzy Caldwell.
