A Skipperville man was arrested in Daleville March 12 after a traffic stop on South Daleville Avenue near Bojangles.

Daleville police Sgt. Jason Grantham arrested Jeffery Tharp, 41, after stopping the suspect’s black 1999 Nissan Pathfinder at 2:43 a.m. for a burned-out headlight.

Grantham said after stopping the vehicle, he spoke with the suspect and noticed Tharp seemed very nervous.

The officer then obtained consent to search the vehicle and located two vials with methamphetamine, a scale and a smoking pipe.

Tharp was taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was booked in the Dale County Jail and released on a $10,500 bond March 12.
