Kristopher Joseph Speigner and Joy Speigner have been arrested in Coffee County on several warrants.

The pair were expected in court earlier this month in Madison County on charges for criminally negligent homicide, but never showed up.

On Sept. 18, Coffee County investigators received a call from an anonymous source that the couple was in Coffee County.

Investigators also learned Kristopher Speigner had active warrants for failure to appear out of the Enterprise Police Department and Joy Speigner had an active felony warrant for failure to appear on a third-degree escape charge out of Geneva County.

The two were taken into custody after a traffic stop on Chinook Drive.

Both suspects were arrested without incident.

Joy Speigner was transported to the Geneva County Jail and Kristopher Speigner was transported to the Coffee County.

According to the Coffee County Sheriff's Office, the two will face charges for not appearing for court in Madison County on the criminally negligent homicide charge.

The two were charged in Sept. 2013 with criminally negligent homicide after the death of 18-month-old McKenzie Reign Speigner, the daughter of Kristopher Speigner and stepdaughter of Joy Speigner.

McKenzie Speigner died in 2012 after ingesting a dishwashing detergent tablet.

According to a court record, the two did not seek medical help for the child due to their intoxicated state.

Criminally negligent homicide is a misdemeanor with a maximum possible sentence of one year is prison.
