Members of the Enterprise Board of Education unanimously approved Nov. 29 the employment of Dr. Teri Prim as the new principal at Hillcrest Elementary School.
Prim, who has 18 years in education, will join the Enterprise City School System from the Ozark City School System where she worked as principal at Lisenby Elementary School.
"I am excited to be a part of Enterprise City Schools. You've got such a wonderful reputation," Prim said. "Hillcrest is a great opportunity for me."
Prim said working at Hillcrest provides an opportunity to work with a larger staff and diverse population of students.
Prim looks forward to getting to know the staff and is excited about working with Superintendent Dr. Aaron Milner, who she said she respects as an educator and leader.
"Leaving Ozark City Schools is sad because it is a great school system. The people have been very supportive of me and encouraging," Prim said, adding she'll miss the community, the teachers and the parents.
Prim said Lisenby is a small, cohesive school with a "family-like" atmosphere that she really appreciates.
Prim duties will begin at Hillcrest within the next couple weeks where she will replace retiring principal Hugh Williams who has led the school for the past 30 years.
Several Enterprise schools' principals have also contacted Prim to offer support during her transition, she said.
