Classes in the Taoist Tai Chi Society™ Internal Arts and Methods begin Thursday, Sept. 5, at the Enterprise YMCA Fitness Center and the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany Parish Hall. At the Y, classes are offered on Thursday at 1 p.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m. At the Episcopal Church, classes are offered on Monday at 9 a.m. and on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Anyone interested in joining a class is encouraged to join any time. The German Coffee Club will meet on Thursday, Oct. 31, at 9:30 a.m. at The Landing on Fort Rucker. Please wear a Halloween costume. The annual meeting of the Coffee County Training/Coppinville High School Alumni Association will be held on Sunday, Nov. 3, at 5 p.m. in the library/media room at Coppinville School of Opportunity on Ouida Street.

NOV. 11

The Coffee County Republican Club will meet on Monday, Nov. 11, at 6 p.m., at Po Folks Restaurant in Enterprise. The guest speaker will be candidate for Alabama Court of Civil Appeals Matt Fridy.  All are welcome and no reservations are necessary.  Ordering will be done off the menu.  For more information, please contact CCRC Chairman Ed Foy at 494-4663.  The CCRC will not meet in December, but will resume its regular meeting schedule in January.

NOV. 15

The Fort Rucker Community Spouses’ Club annual bazaar will be held at Yano Hall on Fort Rucker on Friday, Nov. 15 from 11:30 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 16 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Over 70 vendors will offer crafts, jewelry, furniture, antiques, toys and more. This is the club’s largest fundraiser of the year and proceeds benefit scholarship and welfare programs. The event is open to the public. The DAV Wiregrass Chapter 99 Holiday Meal is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 21 from 6-8:30 p.m. in The Landing Banquet Room at Fort Rucker. Cost is $15 per person. The House of Ruth Inc. offers services in nine counties in Southeast Alabama for issues of domestic violence and sexual assault. For more information call 334-347-1912 or 1-800-650-6522.

The Enterprise Senior Citizens Center is for anyone 60 years of age or older. There is no fee to participate in the senior center program but donations are welcomed. Congregate lunches are served at the center and home-bound meals are delivered to eligible clients. Art classes are offered every Tuesday from 8 until 10 a.m., and 10 a.m. until noon. Sewing classes are offered every Monday and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until noon. Additional services include nutrition education, public education, legal assistance, telephone reassurance, information assistance and various programs through community service organizations. Day trips, organized special events and an evening once or twice a month for members to eat at a favorite restaurant are planned. The cost for trips and special events are the responsibility of the individual person who signs up to participate. Transportation services are provided to members that are unable to drive or do not have transportation within the city limits only. Members are brought to the center and returned home after lunch. Coffee County Toastmasters Club #4945 holds meetings every second and fourth Tuesdays at Enterprise State Community College, Talmadge Hall, Room 130, from 6:15-8 p.m.

The Sons of Confederate Veterans meets every second Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. in the conference room next to First United Methodist Church. The SCV is the direct heir of the United Confederate Veterans, and the oldest hereditary organization for male descendants of Confederate soldiers.
