Council approves Southeast AlabamaWorks meeting site

In a short meeting on Dec. 17, the Daleville City Council approved a request from Southeast AlabamaWorks to host a quarterly workforce summit at the Daleville Cultural and Convention Center in March of 2020 at no cost.

According to the Southeast AlabamaWorks website their mission is to identify and address the workforce needs of new and existing business and industry by developing mutually beneficial partnerships with education systems, training providers and job seekers.

In other business, the council reappointed Vickie Story to the Daleville Public Library board, Linda Heffner to the Board of Adjustments and Debra Latremore to the Planning Board upon letters of request of each.

After approval of the agenda, the minutes and the bills list with no other business, the meeting was adjourned.

The next Daleville City Council meeting is scheduled for Jan. 7, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. with a work session on Jan. 6 at 5 p.m.
