The Daleville Lady Hawks (6-5, 1-1) got area play off to a start last week with road games against Cottonwood and Houston County, winning one and losing one.

First up, the Lady Hawks picked up a 58-36 win over Houston County on Jan. 7. Sophomore Joye Anderson led Daleville with 22 points in the win, while senior Janee Clements scored 14 points and junior Alisha Scott scored eight points. Senior Erika Herring added seven points in the win.

The Lady Hawks followed that win up with a tough scoring night against Cottonwood on Jan. 9, coming up short 47-39.

Anderson again led Daleville with 16 points, while Herring had seven points and Clements scored six points.

The Lady Hawks will get a chance to pick up another area win in a rematch against Houston County on Thursday, Jan. 16, at home.
