Dr. Lynn Irwin has been named principal at Windham Elementary School in Daleville.
Irwin was named principal after unanimous approval by the Daleville Board of Education at the meeting May 20.
Serving most recently as WES Assistant Principal, Irwin has served with Daleville City Schools for two years but has worked in the field of education for 26 years.
She fills the position vacated by Chris Mitten who will be the principal of the soon to reopen Daleville Middle School.
Irwin has served in a variety of capacities to include classroom teacher, reading coach and administrator. Being the wife of a retired United States Army member, she has served schools in many states and abroad.
Irwin has an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, a master’s in Curriculum and Instruction, a master’s in Educational Leadership and a PhD. in Educational Foundations Leadership and Technology from Auburn University.
Irwin is married to retired Chief Warrant Officer Bruce Irwin. They have two daughters, two sons-in law and two granddaughters.

Nicole McNeil, WES first grade teacher.
