An Ozark man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred in the Dixie Drive area in Ozark on Monday, Feb. 10.
Howard Lenny Munday, 33, is in Dale County Jail charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling, attempting to elude police and second-degree possession of marijuana.
Ozark Police Chief Marlos Walker said that the arrest is the result of an investigation into a verbal and physical altercation that occurred earlier at the same location Feb. 10 involving several people.
Walker said that up to four people left the scene prior to any arrival of law enforcement. Later two suspects were taken into custody for questioning, he said.
There were no injuries related to gunfire sustained during the altercation, Walker said. “Some parties did receive minor injuries.”
Walker said that a BOLO—be on the lookout—was issued for a vehicle that left the scene. “Moments later the vehicle was located by law enforcement and the suspects fled on foot into a wooded area near Andrews Avenue and Meadowlake Drive in Ozark,” he said.
Walker thanked the Dale County Sheriff’s Department, Ozark Fire and Rescue, Ozark-Dale County E911 Dispatch and members of the Ozark Police Department for their participation in the incident.
