The Level Plains City Council passed various business items at its regularly scheduled meeting on Aug. 6.
Councilman James Bullinger served as mayor pro-tem in the absence of Level Plains Mayor Bruce Grantham.
The council approved the purchase of a new water fountain for city hall in the amount of $656.32.
In other business, the council approved to pay the Alabama League of Municipalities membership dues in the amount of $1,189.69.
The council approved an auction of cars in the impound lot. Level Plains Water Supervisor Stanley Gatlin said that buyers would be able to receive clean titles for all the cars at this auction. The date and time of the auction have not been set yet.
Councilman Ronnie Thompson asked that the deferred prosecution resolution be tabled until next meeting when Grantham is expected to return. The motion was passed unanimously.
The council entered an executive session certified by city attorney Dale Marsh to discuss personnel issues where no action was taken.
The next Level Plains City Council meeting will be Aug. 20 at 6 p.m., at Level Plains City Hall. The meeting is open to the public.
