The Enterprise High School wrestling team opened up the 2020 season with wins over Northside Methodist and Charles Henderson in Dothan on Nov. 17.
EHS opened up with a 72-12 win over Charles Henderson and then knocked off Northside Methodist 72-12, as well.
Against Charles Henderson, Kaden Franke (195 pounds), Carson Phillips (220 pounds) and Layton Smith (132 pounds) all earned pinfall wins. Michael Wyrosdick (285 pounds) and Will Gottsacker (160 pounds) fell to Charles Henderson grapplers by pinfall.
Paxton Hanshaw (106 pounds), Grier Hunt (113 pounds), Trace Woodward (120 pounds), Austin Walker (126 pounds), Austin Davis (138 pounds), Samuel Lynon (145 pounds), Ian Gillis (152 pounds), Scott Hernandez (170 pounds) and Brandon Messmer (182 pounds) all earned forfeit wins for Enterprise, as well.
Hunt (113 pounds), Woodward (120 pounds), Walker (126 pounds), Davis (138 pounds) and Messmer (182 pounds) all earned pinfall wins against Northside. Wyrosdick (285 pounds) and Ian Gillis (152 pounds) lost by pinfall.
Hanshw (106 pounds), Smith (132 pounds), Lynon (145 pounds), Gottsacker (160 pounds), Hernandez (170 pounds), Franke (195 pounds) and Phillips (220 pounds) all won via forfeit.
EHS also picked up three wins in exhibition matches – which don’t count towards the season records – as Evelyn Holmes earned a pinfall against Northside Methodist’s Sydney Freeman and Loriah Castro earned a 5-2 win over Northside Methodist’s Tristin Robinson. Also, Cody Kirk pinned Northside Methodist’s Josh Harris.
EHS will compete against WS Neal and Brewbaker Tech on Dec. 8 on the road.
