Zach McFarland and Colby Clark of the Enterprise High School wrestling team traveled to Huntsville on Feb. 14-15 to compete in Class 7A’s State Wrestling Meet.
In the state tournament McFarland won his opening round matchup against Vestavia Hills wrestler Christopher Hayes by a 10-6 decision before losing 8-2 to Thompson’s John Roberts in the second round. In the second round of the consolation bracket McFarland fell to Hewitt-Trussville wrestler Chris Weaver in a 10-7 decision to be eliminated from the tournament.
Clark lost to No. 1 seed Michael Jackson of Thompson by pinfall before also losing to Gage Hughes of Spain Park by a 9-4 decision in the first round of the consolation bracket.
