EHS

Enterprise High School principal Brent Harrison addressed students and parents in a video posted to Facebook on April 1 to address how the school will finish off the remainder of the academic year.

Harrison said that teachers – freshmen through juniors – would be using Google Classroom to give out assignments to students. Harrison said that any student that hasn’t signed up for Google Classroom or can’t remember their passwords should check their school E-mail or contact him by E-mail.

Also, hard copy packets with assignments will be available for students that do not have computers or broadband internet to pickup at the school.

Packets for juniors will be available on April 7, sophomores on April 8 and freshmen on April 9 between 9 and 11 a.m. each day. Packets will be delivered to students or parents’ cars in front of the school.

Students that were scheduled to start a nine-week ACCESS course will be converted to an EHS teacher and that information sent out via e-mail. ACCESS students that are taking a full semester course should continue working on the course as they already had been, according to Harrison.

Harrison also addressed how school will be handled for seniors.

“As of the end of the third nine weeks, if you are in good standing and passing your courses then you are officially done as far as academic classes here at EHS,” Harrison continued. “If you do not have a passing grade then teachers will be reaching out to you to help you meet those requirements and get a passing grade.”

Harrison also emphasized that EHS hopes to hold graduation on the previously scheduled date

“We are going to try and do everything in our power to recognize the Class of 2020,” he said. “A lot of it is just a wait-and-see approach right now as the virus hopefully declines. We will make a call for a time and date (on graduation) and I still hope it is May 21.”

Counseling will also continue to be available for students that would like to continue taking advantage of it, by phone.

Harrison said that once social distancing guidelines are relaxed then a time will be set up for students to pickup belongings that have been left in the school or in their locker, as well as drop off textbooks.

“I hate this is how we’re ending the year,” Harrison said. “There (are) lot of neat things we had in store for our seniors but unfortunately this is the hand we were dealt. It has been a pleasure to serve as your principal the last three years and we miss all of you.”

Harrison said that anyone with questions can contact him at [email protected] and that he will also respond to questions asked on EHS’ Facebook page.
