The Alabama Sports Writers Association’s annual all state team was released on Sunday, Dec. 22, and a number of players in The Southeast Sun/Daleville Sun-Courier coverage area made the cut.

Senior Daleville running back Jalen White continued to garner accolades as he earned first team all state honors at running back in Class 2A. White is the first Warhawk to earn first team honors since 2016.

Senior Daleville offensive lineman Bryan Serrano and junior Sincere McKenzie also earned second team honors. McKenzie was named to the second team as an “athlete” after playing running back, fullback, receiver, defensive back and linebacker during his junior season.

Also making Class 2A’s first team was New Brockton senior defensive lineman Brandon McCoy. McCoy was the only Gamecock to earn all state honors and is the first Gamecock to be named to the first team since 2017.

Enterprise senior offensive lineman Fernando Diaz was named to Class 7A’s second team for the second consecutive year, and senior punter Hunter Perry earned honorable mention.

White, McKenzie and McCoy were all named to The Southeast Sun/Daleville Sun-Courier Elite 11 team, as well.
