The Dale County Bama Club recently created its 26th scholarship, the Coach Bill “Robo” Robertson Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was established by Robertson’s sons, Boden and Kent, in honor of the longtime coach and educator who died Sept. 25, 2018. Robertson taught at Carroll High School in Ozark and coached and taught at Dale County High School in Midland City and G. W. Long High School in Skipperville. Robertson served as assistant principal at G.W. Long High School and principal at G.W. Long Elementary School, where he retired after 35 years in public education. Standing, from left, are Dr. Charles Smith, Dale County Bama Club Scholarship Chairman; Boden Robertson; Kent and Judy Robertson; and, Pam Carroll, University of Alabama National Alumni Vice-President, District 14. Seated are Coach Robertson’s grandchildren John Douglas and Kennedy.
