Enterprise High School held its first ever on-campus track meet on Saturday, Feb. 29, with the Leap Year Invite with schools from around the area joining EHS.
Joining Enterprise at the meet were Niceville (Fla.), Houston Academy, Carroll, Providence Christian and Dothan.
Niceville managed to take No. 1 overall in both boys and girls action with Enterprise coming in second place.
Overall, Enterprise took home three first place finishes, while dozens of EHS individuals and teams had Top 10 finishes in various events.
Aniyah Kitt earned a first place finish in the girls 100-meter dash as she finished with a time of 12.50, while teammate Rachel Peterson finished in third place with a time of 13.08.
The boys 4x800 meter relay team also earned first place with a time of 8:52.95 and Tyrone Clark showed off his leaping abilities as he earned first place in the boys triple jump. The relay team consisted of Brett Tessay, Tyler Rathburn, Henry Templin and William Kim.
Deshauia Burger earned an eighth place finish in the girls 200-meter dash with a time of 29.91 and Kaylee Watson finished in sixth place with a time of 1:09.79.
Natalie Warner medaled in the girls 3200-meter run with a third place finish and a time of 12:54.19, while Lauren Rodgers came in sixth place with a time of 13:31.08.
Amariia Leggett finished in third place in the girls 100-meter hurdles, while Mya Hill came in fifth place with a time of 21.26.
Leggett also finished in sixth place in the girls 300-meter hurdles, while Madisen James came in sixth place, Alexis Brunney came in ninth place and Hill finished in 10th place.
The girls 4x100 meter relay team – consisting of Zaina Aejandre-Ojeda, Jocelyn Jones, Marissa Thrash and Tyra Hayes – finished in third place with a time of 55.76
The 4x400 meter relay team – made up of Kitt, Thrash, Peterson and Jones – finished as runner-up with a time of 4:37.06.
Natlie Warner, Mirna Thompson, Emma McCrea and Rodgers made up one 4x800 meter relay team, which finished in third place with a time of 11:09.53. The other 4x800 team was made up of Amadeua Thompson, Melissa Pejon, Julianna Gingrich and Samantha De Hoyos, which came in sixth place.
Jocelyn Jones took second place in the girls high jump, while Peterson came in eighth place in the girls long jump and Leggett came in ninth place.
Kayana Luke finished in sixth place in the girls discus toss, while Madisen James came in eighth place and Kaitlyn Price came in 10th.
In the girls javelin toss, Joceyln Jones earned a sixth place finish and Molly Ledbetter took eighth place.
Raven Jump finished in ninth place in the girls shot put.
Jaylon Webster took fifth place in the boys 100-meter dash with a time of 11.91, Jalen Cunningham came in eight place with a time of 12.04, Romaine McFarland took ninth place with a time of 12.06 and Kenyatte McNeese came in 10th with a time of 12.10.
LZ Leonard medaled in the 200-meter dash as he came in third place with a time of 23.77, while Mykel Johnson came in fourth with a time of 23.91 and Brison Chatman came in ninth place with a time of 24.76. DeMarius Leonard also finished in 10th place with a time of 24.96.
In the 400-meter dash, Jalen Fairly earned fifth place with a time of 55.67 and Brett Tessay took ninth place with a time of 58.12.
Henry Templin took seventh place in the boys 1600-meter run with a time of 5:18.15, while William Kim came in ninth place with a time of 5:20.17.
A time of 10:37.31 earned Tyler Rathburn a third place finish in the boys 3200-meter run, while Rajan Dahale came in sixth place with a time of 11:16.71.
Dain Grimes was runner-up in the boys 110-meter hurdle with a time of 16.85, while KJ McNeese came in fifth place with a time of 19.98. Dekaine Leonard came in sixth place with a time of 20.34, Eran Foye came in seventh place with a time of 20.35, Jeremy Bernal came in eighth place with a time of 21.71, Jonthavious Hooten came in ninth place with a time of 22.3 and Jordan Harmon came in 10th place with a time of 23.93.
Grimes took third place in the boys 300-meter hurdle with a time of 44.74, Kendrett Green came in fifth with a time of 47.63 and Hooten finished in ninth place with a time of 56.14.
The boys 4x100 meter relay team – consisting of McNeese, Sam Whittaker, Chatman and Mykel Johnson – finished in second place with a time of 43.17 and the 4x400 meter team finished in third place with a time of 3:52.94. Clark, McFarland, Green and Jalen Fairly made up the 4x400 team.
In the boys high jump McFarland took fourth place, while Dain Grimes came in fifth and both Clark and Dekaine Leonardo tied for sixth. Cunningham came in ninth place and Webster came in 10th.
Clark also finished in second place in the boys long jump and Grimes came in third place with McFarland in fourth and Marshawn Fitzpatrick in fifth place.
Joshu Cunningham took fourth place in the boys discus toss, while Jermaine Adams finished in ninth and Jace Mashburn finished at No. 10.
Jomori Bayaban finished runner-up in the boys javelin throw and Adams came in 10th.
Ashton Daniels earned a seventh place finish in the boys shot put, while Adams finished in eighth place.
