The Enterprise Wildcats (15-4, 4-0) kept their Class 7A, Area 3 record unblemished last week with wins over both Jeff Davis and Prattville.
The Wildcats started the week off with a close 62-60 win on the road over Jeff Davis on Jan. 12.
The two sides duked it out in a back-and-forth affair that saw the Wildcats come away with the close win. Jeff Davis led 14-13 heading into the second quarter but Enterprise outscored the Vols 19-13 in the second quarter to take a 32-27 lead into halftime.
The Vols rebounded to outscore Enterprise 16-14 in the third quarter but the Wildcats held on to a 46-43 lead. Jeff Davis managed to draw within two points in the fourth quarter but Enterprise held on to the 62-60 win.
Enterprise shot 53 percent from the field in the win, while holding Jeff Davis to just 32 percent shooting. The Wildcats also outrebounded the Vols 38-29 and Enterprise really dominated the paint, outscoring Jeff Davis 42-24 inside the paint.
Junior Elijah Terry led Enterprise with 17 points, 15 rebounds and four steals, while junior Quentin Hayes added 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Senior Jalen Cunningham added eight points and senior Josh McCray scored seven points.
The Lady Cats (5-6, 2-1) picked up their first area win of the season with a 40-22 win over Jeff Davis as well. Enterprise was led by Jaida Gosha’s 15 points while NeNe Nelson added 14 points in the win.
The Wildcats followed that up with a 67-31 thrashing of Prattville at home on Jan. 15. The Wildcats outscored Prattville 16-7 in the first quarter and took a 29-20 lead into halftime.
Enterprise completely dominated the second half, outscoring Prattville 38-11 in the half, to come away with the decisive victory.
Enterprise shot 44 percent from the field in the win, while holding Prattville to just 32 percent shooting. The Wildcats also outrebounded Prattville 36-28 and forced 28 Lion turnovers.
Terry had another big night with 15 points and nine rebounds, while senior Jared Smith chipped in with 10 points and three steals. Hayes also scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds with three steals. Cunningham scored nine points and earned five steals on defense, while McCray scored eight points and grabbed six rebounds.
The Lady Cats also capped off the night with a 40-23 walloping of Prattville as Gosha led the way with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while NeNe Nelson added 10 points and seven steals in the win.
