The Wiregrass-Enterprise Chapter 1807, National Active and Retired Federal Employees, will hold its monthly luncheon program with new leadership at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at Po Folks Restaurant, Enterprise. The guest speaker will be Tom Heisner, service officer for NARFE Chapter 1609 in Dothan. All federal employees, active or retired, are invited to attend the luncheon programs at the same time every fourth Thursday of the month at Po Folks. The Alabama Extension Service is offering a two-hour workshop on estate planning for landowners on Thursday, Jan. 28. This workshop is being offered live, through Zoom, an online video platform and begins at 7 p.m. Attendance is limited and registration is required. There is a $10 registration fee. The Alabama Extension Service is offering a live, online workshop that will cover the topic of heirs property on Thursday, Feb. 18, starting at 3 p.m. There is no fee but class size is limited and registration is required. During this workshop, what heirs property is, what rights heirs have, and how to obtain legal title will be discussed. This program will not offer legal advice but will be educational in nature. It is intended to give participants the knowledge they need to decide how to proceed if they are an heir.
