Tax Holiday

The State of Alabama will hold its 15th Annual Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday in July.

The Tax Holiday will take place from Friday, July 17, through Sunday, July 19, giving shoppers the opportunity to purchase certain school supplies and clothing tax-free for the weekend.

The tax-free holiday will include purchases of clothing – including diapers and shoes – of $100 or less per item, school supplies of $50 or less per item, computers and computer equipment of $750 or less per purchase, textbooks $50 or less and all other books $30 or less.
